SMS program disclosure

SMS alerts, consent, and opt-out

This page documents the FireSignal SMS program in full, so it can be reviewed without creating an account. Consent text version v2-2026-05.

Who receives messages

Only owners and staff of licensed Texas restoration contracting businesses who have created a FireSignal account, verified their business identity, and personally opted in with the number they supplied. FireSignal never messages consumers, homeowners, or property owners, and holds no homeowner contact information of any kind.

How someone opts in

  1. They enter their work email at getfiresignal.com/signup and receive a one-time sign-in link. No phone number is collected at this step.
  2. They enter their business identity, which is checked against Texas state business records and the TDLR licence register.
  3. They are shown the consent language below and must tick an unchecked box to proceed. The box is never pre-ticked, and consent is not bundled with any other agreement.
  4. They enter their own mobile number and confirm it with a one-time passcode. No alert is ever sent to an unconfirmed number.

The exact consent language

By providing your phone number and checking this box, you agree to receive recurring fire incident alert messages from FireSignal at the number you supply. Message frequency varies based on incidents in your configured territory. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. See our Privacy Policy at getfiresignal.com/legal/privacy and Terms of Service at getfiresignal.com/legal/terms.

Rendered here from the same constant the signup form uses, so the two cannot diverge. Each acceptance is written to an append-only log with the timestamp, IP address, user agent, and the version of the text shown at that moment.

Message frequency and cost

Frequency varies and is driven by real events: a message is sent when a fire is dispatched inside the service territory the subscriber configured, at or above the severity threshold they chose. A quiet week may produce no messages; a busy day may produce several. A rate cap groups bursts into a single summary message. Message and data rates may apply. FireSignal does not charge per message.

HELP and STOP

Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, OPTOUT, REVOKE) to stop all messages immediately. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP (or INFO) for help. Opt-outs are honoured at the carrier and recorded in our own consent log, and a subscriber who has opted out is excluded from message selection at the database level.
